Letterhorn: your daily mountain
Letterhorn is a free daily word game you play in your browser. Each day there's a new mountain to climb, from Yr Wyddfa to Everest. You climb it by spelling words from a board of Scrabble tiles: the more valuable the letters and the longer the word, the higher you go.
How to play Letterhorn
- Drag across touching letters, diagonals included, to spell a word of three or more letters.
- Each word climbs its Scrabble letter points multiplied by its length, in meters. Used letters vanish and new ones fall in from your bag.
- You have 130 tiles for the whole climb. Reach the summit in as few words as you can before the letters or the words run out.
One mountain a day, the same one for everybody
The mountain and every tile in the bag come from the date, so everyone playing on a given day gets the same starting board and the same letters in the same order. There's no reroll and one ranked climb a day. If a mountain can't be climbed, it couldn't be climbed for anyone, and the leaderboard ranks who got highest.
Daily leaderboard and replays
Finish your climb to see where you placed and what share of climbers you beat. Past days stay on the leaderboard, and you can watch a word-by-word replay of any posted climb. A weekly board ranks everyone from Monday to Sunday by climbs played, summits and fewest words.
Climb with friends
Add a friend with their six-character code or a share link, then filter the leaderboard to just the people you know. Letterhorn keeps your head-to-head record against each friend, and a league gives a group its own private board with a join code.
The mountains
The daily mountain cycles through twelve real peaks, rising every day from the smallest to the highest on Earth, then starting again.

Letterhorn runs in the browser on a phone or a computer, with no download and no account. Add it to your home screen to play it like an app, even offline. A name is only needed to appear on leaderboards and add friends.
